Bespoke Environmental Checklists

28 September 2017
As part of its extended sustainability offering, QODA has developed its own bespoke sustainability checklist and performance evaluation tool.
The process helps to inform our clients of influential design considerations which matter to their project. The approach can also been used as a briefing tool to evaluate our clients’ agenda to sustainability and the appetite for engagement post completion. Many of our clients like the prospect of principles including Soft Landings and Post Occupancy Evaluation (POE) but don’t appreciate the involvement and intricacies of how this might affect their scheme.
In addition to the checklist, we have also developed assessment tools which encompass the content and sectors drawn upon within the environmental certification schemes BREEAM and most recently WELL. The process helps to inform whether certification is preferential for our clients’ scheme and which approach is best suited to the project. The tool will also calculate the likely score a project could achieve and the number of additional credits needed to gain higher ratings for both the WELL and BREEAM standards. Differences and similarities between the two schemes can also be assessed.
Our lunchtime learning sessions covering specialist topics are also being extended and we will shortly be offering presentations on the WELL Building Standard and how our own bespoke checklist might benefit your scheme. Combined with this we are able to offer initial project review sessions at concept stage to provide advice on parameters including natural ventilation openings, thermal performance and low energy design by a member of our specialist Sustainability Team.
