Passivhaus: Genuinely Low Energy Buildings
Passivhaus is a voluntary, low energy building standard that is gaining ground in both domestic and non-domestic buildings worldwide. It is known for its technical rigour, the high comfort and health levels of the buildings that achieve it, and reliable elimination of the performance gap between design intent and occupied building energy usage.
This presentation is an overview of the Passivhaus standard for building designers, developers and constructors, introducing key concepts such as air tightness detailing, avoiding thermal bridging, and simplifying building services design.
