QODA have been appointed by St Peter’s College, University of Oxford for the Castle Hill House redevelopment project. The College has recently acquired the Castle Hill House site, which was formerly the Conservative Club, and is planning to redevelop the site to provide student accommodation, particularly for its second-year students.

Working with Design Engine Architects the project has unique challenges as part of the historic city fabric separated from the main College site by a narrow public lane and with numerous level changes. The brief includes a Passivhaus approach and will include the development of a low carbon strategy featuring waste water heat recovery and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery. The design will provide a rich mix of communal areas, social spaces, and study bedrooms.
