Dyrham Park, National Trust
The QODA team were appointed by the National Trust to design the new services within this Grade I listed country house at Dyrham Park near Bath. Works include the removal of the existing inefficient oil fired boilers and the installation of new wood chip boilers within an external energy centre. In addition, the existing heating system will be refurbished and modified to provide conservation heating control.
First Central Hotel
The proposed development at Park Royal, London includes a new four star hotel over eight stories with 229 guest rooms, 26 of which are suites. QODA are completing the detailed M&E design and advising on sustainability.
QODA have been appointed as the Sustainability, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers for the major re-development of Gunnersbury Park in West London. The project aims to restore and reveal the many facets of the park and the museum for public enjoyment and understanding.
Private Residence, Surrey
QODA were appointed with a design team to refurbish a Grade I Listed Tudor Manor House and ancillary buildings to provide six star facilities for a private client. Works included; Spa facilities forming pool, gym, Hamman and treatment rooms / Design and installation of comfort cooling throughout the Main House / Estate Cottage refurbishment / Irrigation Lakes / Landscape and Staff Accommodation.
Royal Latin School Sports Development
QODA have won a competition with TSH Architects to design new sports hall facilities at The Royal Latin School in Buckingham. The facilities include new pavilion, changing rooms and all weather pitch to complement the existing sports accommodation. The brief was to provide facilities to allow teaching staff the flexibility to develop a range of teaching methods appropriate to meet the individual needs of the students allowing greater opportunity to develop their skills and understanding of sport.
Withington Girl’s School, Manchester
QODA were appointed to work with Levitt Bernstein on the construction of a new Junior School at Withington Girls School, Manchester. The new building will allow the School to expand their facilities at Junior level for pupils aged 7-11. The building was designed using an exposed concrete frame to maximise the benefits of night time cooling & natural ventilation. The exposed services required detailed coordination using BIM techniques. As the School is approaching its 125 year anniversary they were keen to complete this project in time for the celebrations!
115 Banbury Road
Following the successful completion of the Goodhart Building project QODA have been appointed by University College, Oxford to provide sustainability, mechanical and electrical design services at 115 Banbury Road. The project will deliver 30 student bedrooms consisting of six individual accommodation pods linked by basement social areas with sunken gardens and green roofs. The design incorporates flexibility allowing the basement areas to be used individually or combined by removing sliding partitions to form a single large social space.
QODA are part of a full design team working on four Leisure Centres in the London Borough of Islington. The scope of the developments are all centred around increasing the capacity of the gym facilities to cater for the demand in the local areas. QODA carried out full detailed design duties with the design up to Stage 5 being carried out in Autodesk Revit. QODA are acting as BIM coordinator, leading the M&E, Architectural and Structural engineers coordinated design process.
Marcus Garvey Library
QODA are working on the phased refurbishment of a number of Libraries for Haringey Council. The work at Marcus Garvey includes the complete refurbishment of the Library along with the two lifts and the creation of a Customer Services Centre on the first floor for the use by the local community. The Council had very ambitious timescales for this (£2.2million) contract which is due for completion at the end of May 2016.
New College, Oxford
The team at QODA have been involved in many projects over 20 years at New College including conservation, new build and infrastructure upgrades. Recent projects include repairs to the Chapel heating, student accommodation and the refurbishment/extension of The Morris Garages.
