Case Study

Private Residence, Twickenham

QODA were appointed to carry out consultancy services on this Private Residence overlooking the Thames. This early Georgian family home was built circa 1721. The London team will be advising the owners how to adapt the house so that it’s emissions are reduced, it becomes more comfortable and is ready to be a family home for the future. The clients are keen on retaining the period aesthetic of the house while improving the energy efficiency of the building. The house is to include a new kitchen, a sauna and steam room, a cinema, a gym as well as significant landscaping to the garden.

Boars Hill

QODA have been employed by a private client to work with West Waddy Architects to develop the Mechanical, Electrical, Sustainability, and Renewables elements of a new build residential house in a very prominent but difficult site. The site is surrounded by a mature woodland containing protected trees and is also on a steep gradient. QODA have been involved in the detailed design of variations to the properties orientation and construction details to achieve the best result for the clients’ requirements. Heating will be provided by a bore-hole ground source heat pump, and the property will have PV panels and battery storage incorporated into the electrical infrastructure to reduce the overall energy demand of the building from the regional networks.

Private Residence, Suffolk

2020QODA have been appointed as Mechanical & Electrical Services Engineers for a large Grade II listed private residence located within a country estate in Suffolk. The first element of the works consisted of an estate-wide master plan to support consultation with the Regulatory bodies and consider the most appropriate sustainability strategy for the estate. Once the strategy was agreed, the designs included a complete re-servicing of the house, family archive stores, garages, spa complex and landscape including; electrical re-wiring, new lighting, new small power to all spaces, AV systems, a new smoke detection and fire alarm system, a complete new heating system fed via a new site wide biomass energy centre, new hot & cold water system, and above & below ground drainage.

Private Residence, Hampshire

QODA have been appointed as M&E services engineers for a new replacement dwelling and outbuildings project in Hampshire. The project involves a replacement 8-bedroom house situated along the lake shore and the partial demolition and conversion of the existing dwelling into stables and offices of ancillary use. The new house includes an extensive basement / lower ground floor to include a media / games room, swimming pool, sauna, loggia, gym, and sunken garden.

Private Estate, Berkshire

QODA have been appointed as M&E consultants for the refurbishment and redevelopment of a country estate in West Berkshire. The project consists of part demolition of the main house to provide a new basement and ancillary amenities along with contemporary refurbishment and modernisation throughout. On the wider Estate the project will also involve provisions for stabling, a shooting lodge facility, an indoor swimming pool pavilion, on-site staff accommodation, garaging, staff / visitor parking, and landscaping throughout.

Private Residence, Goring

Using their Passivhaus experience, QODA were asked to assist a private client design team and build a bespoke new house to Passivhaus standards. The project includes the new house and landscape following the zero carbon requirements of the Passivhaus criteria replacing the existing building.

Fairfield House

Fairfield House is a domestic residence for a private client. QODA were employed to provide technical advice, a tender scope documentation, SAP calculations to enable the Client to achieve planning, and collaboration with the construction team with an overview and management of the contractor’s workmanship.

Private Estate, Wiltshire

QODA have been appointed as M&E consultants for the redevelopment of a private Estate in Wiltshire. The project involves the complete refurbishment of the existing buildings on the Estate along with the construction of a new visitors centre and farmstead. The site-wide infrastructure will also be modernised / upgraded following review.

Case Study

Private Residence, Cookham

QODA were appointed to undertake the full design of the electrical and mechanical services for the replacement of an existing dwelling and a new build house on a wonderful site adjacent to the River Thames. The project included a garage, outbuildings, swimming pooly, and landscaped gardens. Careful consideration for potential flood risks due to the property’s proximity to the river was essential along with close engagement with the client and design team during the design process, to meet the client requirements and ambitions. This attention to detail continued throughout the construction phase, coordinating with specialist bespoke furniture, detailing and monitoring workmanship to ensure the highest level of finish was achieved.

Private Residence, Surrey

QODA were appointed with a design team to refurbish a Grade I Listed Tudor Manor House and ancillary buildings to provide six star facilities for a private client. Works included: Spa facilities forming pool, gym, Hamman, and treatment rooms; design and installation of comfort cooling throughout the Main House; Estate Cottage refurbishment; Irrigation Lakes; Landscape, and staff accommodation.
