Introducing Phabric, a Bespoke Software for PHPP-based Projects

20 February 2024
Bespoke software has arrived in engineering consultancy.
At QODA, we are aware of the importance of innovation in driving forward sustainable construction practices. This will be particularly important for achieving the demanding requirements of net zero carbon.
Architecture, Engineering, and Construction is currently seeing an explosion in the development of software. The global construction software industry was valued at £1.38 billion in 2022, and with an annual compound growth rate of 12.34%, it’s expected to reach £2.76 billion by 2028.
QODA’s innovation team have been working to integrate bespoke software into our services to provide enhanced information, analytics, and resources for our clients.
We have developed Phabric, a web app to support the delivery of PHPP-based projects.
QODA’s Innovation Lead, Ben Arnold, has been leading a team developing a web application called Phabric. This new software enhances the presentation and project management of Passivhaus Planning Package (PHPP) based projects.
QODA’s innovation team have developed Phabric to enhance the PHPP process, allowing us to deliver:
- Improved data visualisation and interrogation – facilitating clear, data-driven design decisions.
- Auto-generated reports – allowing us to communicate PHPP results quickly and clearly to all stakeholders.
- Effective project management – using robust version control and QA checking.
- Industry insights – data analytics to explore movement of design solutions against industry aspirations/targets.
Where Phabric sits in the PHPP design process
We want to be the best at communicating, managing, and understanding PHPP-based projects.
Many of our clients come to QODA for support in pushing the boundaries of low-carbon design. Through our experience and in-depth knowledge working on a wide selection of projects modelled in PHPP, we know that managing progress and communicating results can be challenging. Phabric has been created to enhance the client journey with us, allowing them to become familiar with key metrics, and how they relate to the wider industry and area of design we are delivering.
Our innovation work will continue throughout 2024 with new enhancements and features. These will build on our current version of Phabric, bringing wider benefits for our project teams and support across the industry in our challenge to deliver better performing buildings across the UK and beyond.
Phabric Dashboard
QODA Phabric app is now in use.
Our experienced team of sustainability engineers are now deploying Phabric on new projects. If you want to talk about a project with us and how we will use Phabric, please get in contact and we would be happy to chat.
