
Welcoming Carl Cappuccini to QODA as Associate Director

We’re delighted to welcome Carl Cappuccini to QODA as Associate Director and a key member of our Sustainability Team.
Carl is a Chartered Environmentalist with over 15 years’ experience as a specialist energy, thermal comfort, and building physics consultant within the built environment. He is a qualified Low Carbon Energy Assessor and Low Carbon Consultant and holds accreditations with CIBSE, Elmhurst Energy, CABE, and the Society for the Environment.
Working with developers, contractors, research groups, local authorities, and universities, Carl has developed energy, whole-life carbon, and sustainability strategies, decarbonisation studies and roadmaps, and delivered low-carbon and circular economy advice for a diverse range of schemes, sectors, and organisations.
Carl has extensive experience leading various projects across different sectors, primarily focusing on large-scale residential/mixed-use, commercial office, retail, and education developments.
His expertise lies in operational building performance, encompassing predictive dynamic performance modelling and in-use auditing and optimisation. His approach emphasises demand reduction and efficient use of resources, whilst not sacrificing usability and comfort. He champions operational energy monitoring and targeting, as well as data-driven design, to bridge the gap between design and operational performance. He has also conducted research on the potential impacts of regulatory and policy changes, assessing implications on costs, processes, technical specifications, and carbon emissions for a range of clients.
