Overview
QODA is supporting the redevelopment of Hewett Academy in Norwich as part of the Department for Education’s flagship School Rebuilding Programme, which aims to transform the condition and performance of 500 schools across England. This ambitious scheme will deliver a modern, efficient campus that meets the evolving needs of pupils and staff while reducing carbon impact.

QODA’s role
QODA provided full MEP design and coordination for the redevelopment of Hewett Academy, ensuring building services met both performance and sustainability goals. Our team delivered energy modelling and low-carbon strategies to support the project’s ambition of achieving Net Zero in Operation.
Working closely with LSI Architects and T. Clarke, the appointed MEP contractor, through RIBA Stages 4 and 5, we ensured that all solutions were buildable, coordinated, and aligned with the Department for Education’s sustainability agenda.

The Hewett Academy redevelopment will provide state-of-the-art facilities for students and staff while setting a benchmark for sustainable school design. By targeting Net Zero in Operation, the project supports the Department for Education’s commitment to climate resilience and energy efficiency.
