Stephen brings over three decades of leadership in the building services and commissioning sector, with a career defined by technical excellence, strategic vision, and a deep commitment to sustainable, high-performing environments.

Since joining QODA Consulting as Chief Executive in January 2024, he has championed innovation in technology, digital engineering, and sustainability, helping clients navigate the complexity of modern building challenges with confidence and clarity.

Prior to this, Stephen served for eight years as Managing Director, Commissioning EMEA at HDR, where he led complex, global projects and helped shape best practices across commissioning management.

Alan has 40 years’ experience in Sustainability and Building Services Design and has contributed to some of London’s most prestigious projects. He joined QODA as Regional Director for London and is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Before joining QODA, Alan spent nearly 11 years as a Director at Atelier Ten and was previously a Partner at Cushman & Wakefield. His expertise spans complex MEP engineering, design assurance, and compliance across a wide range of sectors.

Alan is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of both CIBSE and IET. In recognition of his services to the built environment, he has been awarded Freeman of the City of London. His leadership continues to drive engineering excellence, collaboration, and innovation across QODA’s London projects.

David recently joined QODA as Finance Director and a member of the Senior Leadership Team, following a short break to renovate his new family home. A chartered accountant with 15 years of experience in the consultancy sector, David brings extensive expertise in financial leadership, strategic planning, and driving sustainable growth.

Before joining QODA, David was Assistant Regional Accounting Director at HDR, where he led ERP integration and financial restructuring across project delivery teams. His experience spans Europe and includes key sectors such as Data Centres, Commercial Real Estate, and Finance. David is passionate about optimising financial operations and supporting long-term business success.

Rob Buckley joined QODA as Director of Sustainability and a valued member of the Senior Leadership Team. With over 25 years of experience in sustainable design and strategic leadership, Rob brings a wealth of expertise in delivering innovative, low-carbon solutions across the built environment.

Prior to joining QODA, Rob spent eight years at Buro Happold Engineering as Sustainable Design Director, where he led high-impact projects and championed holistic sustainability strategies. His experience spans global markets and key sectors including data centres, commercial real estate, and finance.

Rob is passionate about creating better-performing buildings that delight occupants, reduce carbon emissions, and drive long-term value. His appointment marks an exciting step in QODA’s journey to becoming the UK’s leading sustainability and engineering consultancy.

As a Regional Director at QODA, James oversees the full life cycle of projects—from initial fee proposals through to post-completion client feedback. With over 20 years of experience spanning consultancy, contracting, utilities, and manufacturing, James brings a broad and valuable perspective to every stage of project delivery.

His portfolio includes work across diverse sectors such as Education, Healthcare, Defence, Commercial, Community, Residential, Heritage, and Sports & Leisure. Known for his open communication style and candid approach, James builds strong client relationships and helps turn project aspirations into reality.

In addition to leading projects, James supports engineering teams with his extensive design and construction experience, offering early-stage advice through to commissioning and handover.

With over a decade of experience in the building services industry, Sam brings a strategic and collaborative approach to overseeing MEP and sustainable design strategies. As a Director at QODA, he leads projects from early concept through to completion and post-handover, ensuring high standards and quality outcomes throughout.

Sam’s background in mechanical design, Revit, agricultural engineering, and project management gives him a unique perspective on efficient project delivery and technical excellence. His passion for innovation and decarbonisation is matched by his dynamic leadership style, guiding and mentoring engineering teams while maintaining strong relationships with clients and end users.

Driven by a commitment to sustainability and performance, Sam plays a key role in helping clients achieve their project aspirations and contributes to QODA’s broader mission of delivering impactful, future-ready solutions.

Tom leads QODA’s Cambridge office and is responsible for the successful delivery of projects across the region. With 14 years of consultancy experience, he has worked on a wide range of projects spanning Commercial, Residential, Education, Science & Research, Healthcare, Community, Heritage, and Sports & Leisure sectors. 

A Chartered Engineer with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tom is known for his collaborative approach and ability to lead multidisciplinary teams—including MEP engineers, sustainability consultants, and other specialists. He maintains strong relationships with architects and client teams, particularly within the higher education sector, ensuring project deliverables are well-coordinated and aligned with programme requirements. 

Tom enjoys applying his technical expertise to overcome design challenges, support client aspirations, and mentor the next generation of engineers, contributing to both project success and QODA’s broader goals. 

Lindsay is QODA’s Head of Business Support and an integral part of the team, having been with the business for over 13 years. Her deep understanding of QODA’s operations, people, and culture makes her a vital link across all areas of the company.

With a calm, solutions-focused approach, Lindsay oversees the smooth running of business support functions, ensuring teams are equipped to deliver high-quality outcomes. Her dedication, experience, and collaborative mindset help drive efficiency, consistency, and a positive working environment across all QODA offices.

Sophie leads QODA’s marketing and communications strategy, bringing a wealth of experience from across the built environment. Her background spans major infrastructure projects to sustainability-led campaigns, where she has shaped impactful narratives and driven meaningful engagement.

As Head of Marketing Communications, Sophie plays a key role in supporting teams across the business, helping to unlock new opportunities, elevate QODA’s brand, and communicate the value of our work. Passionate about storytelling and strategic thinking, she ensures our communications reflect the innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence at the heart of QODA.
