Congratulations to Shakespeare’s New Place

15 March 2018
Congratulations to the Shakespeare Birth Place Trust on their Selwyn Goldsmith Award for Inclusive Design – Commendation.
QODA were appointed by the Shakespeare Birth Place Trust as part of the team with Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios to both improve the visitor experience of New Place and Nash’s House and to also facilitate the demands of the modern generation.
The project focused mainly on the redesign of the garden site through new landscaping and an extension of the Grade 1 Listed Jacobean museum building. This sensitive extension to Nash’s House has brought additional exhibition space within the gap between two Listed Buildings whilst avoiding any damage to the medieval archaeology.
The site re-opened to the public in August 2016 for the commemoration of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death.
