David Pestell   |   Finance Director

David Pestell is a Finance Director with 15 years of experience in the consultancy and construction industries. As a chartered accountant, he brings expertise in driving strategic growth, optimising financial operations, and leading innovative financial processes to improve organisational efficiency.

At QODA Consulting, David is the Finance Director and a member of the Senior Leadership Team. He plays a key role in strengthening the company’s financial foundations, supporting its strategic vision, and contributing to its growth plans, all while ensuring the delivery of exceptional services to clients.

Previously, David was the Assistant Regional Accounting Director at HDR, where he managed the integration of a new ERP system and led financial restructuring in project financial controls. His experience extends across Europe, with significant contributions to sectors including Data Centres, Commercial Real Estate, and Finance. David’s background in financial management positions him as a strong leader in driving sustainable business success.

Alan Munson   |   Regional Director - London

The Director of the London office, Alan has over 40 years of experience within the construction industry.

Alan has a wealth of experience within the commercial office, healthcare, life science, student accommodation, hotel, hospitality and residential sectors.

Alan is driven to always exceed client’s expectations, to ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards whilst being sustainable and low in both embodied and operation carbon.
Alan is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow member of both the CIBSE and IET.

In 2017 Alan was recognised for his services in and around the City and was made a Freeman of the City of London.

In his spare time Alan enjoys Windsurfing, Wing Foiling, Wakeboarding and Snowboarding.

Rob Buckley   |   Head of Sustainability

Rob is Head of Sustainability and a member of our Senior Leadership Team. With over 25 years of experience in sustainability design and strategic leadership, Rob will enhance our sustainability-focused solutions and strengthen our ability to tackle complex challenges with creativity and expertise.

With a remarkable background in sustainable design and a proven track record of driving growth, innovation, and operational excellence, Rob brings invaluable insights to QODA. His expertise aligns with our commitment to create better-performing buildings that delight occupants, are energy efficient, and reduce carbon emissions. We are excited to have Rob bring these same strengths and dedication to our leadership team and expand our market reach, enhance our service offerings, and deliver exceptional client experiences.

Steven Dow   |   Associate Director

Steve has been working in the construction industry for 35 years advising both new build and portfolio clients and delivering M&E projects from feasibility to final handover.

Sam Pring   |   Director

With over ten years of experience in the building services industry, Sam offers a strategic and collaborative approach to overseeing MEP and Sustainable design strategies. His role is characterised by a youthful enthusiasm and passion for innovation, ensuring high standards are met with a high-quality output.

Tom Cardy   |   Director

Tom is Director of the Cambridge office and has over 12 years of experience delivering projects across a number of sectors, ensuring a high standard is met with client and design team engagement alongside a high quality of output. He enjoys utilising his technical knowledge to overcome challenges by realising client aspirations, passing on his knowledge, and developing others.

Katie Clemence-Jackson   |   Associate

Katie is experienced in M&E design and sustainability consultancy, and is focussed on planning and delivering sustainable outcomes for built environment projects. She is passionate about decarbonising the built environment and developing net zero carbon designs and strategies.

Her view is that the most sustainable projects can demonstrate their sustainability in-use. She thinks holistically to develop strategies that are unique to the client and project requirements, and provide tangible benefits for building users, society, and the planet.

Katie applies a people-focussed approach to projects. She enjoys getting to know clients and their organisations, using this understanding to provide tailored support. She is a keen communicator and will work to ensure project teams are well-informed about the project strategy and wider sustainability themes.

In her role as Chair of CIBSE’s Technology Committee, Katie engages with emerging industry policies and can help clients navigate through a changing policy landscape.

Katie acts as the technical project managed for the UK Net Zero Carbon (NZC) Buildings Standard. In this role she liaises with industry experts to facilitate the development of industry-wide NZC targets, and manages delivery of the standard.

Rory Walsh   |   Director

Rory has over 35 years' experience within building services. His open communication style, pragmatic approach, and insight, combine with an outstanding track record of successful delivery.

Chris Maloney   |   Associate

Chris is a passionate mechanical engineer with a drive to ensure things work as they should, with over 35 years contracting and design experience across a wide range of Mechanical and Public Health services.

James Botwood   |   Director

James is the Director of the Norwich office and leads the MEP team. James has over 18 years of experience in contracting and consultancy. With a proven track record of building and leading engineering teams, James aims to provide QODA’s clients with innovation, quality, and responsiveness from an experienced, professional, and friendly team. 

Kevin Shelley   |   Associate Director

Kevin has 30 years’ experience in the construction industry working on diverse projects in the UK, Europe, and the Middle East. Having worked at all levels and stages of construction projects, Kevin fully understands the activities associated with complex building services and infrastructure installations.

Sam Flanagan   |   Associate

Sam has 16 years’ experience in Mechanical Services Design and Coordination and has been involved at all areas of the discipline from concept design through to handover. His approach focuses on collaboration, and he seeks to encourages conversation and coordination at an early stage, maintaining communication throughout the design process.
